The Acquarella® Waterfall is Caldera Spas' signature water feature and one of the defining sensory elements of the Utopia® Series. The Acquarella® is an architectural water cascade integrated into the spa's shell with LED lighting built in, delivering the visual cascade and acoustic white-noise softening that the Utopia® line is known for. Acquarella® ships on five of the six Utopia® models. The flagship Cantabria® carries two Acquarella® Waterfalls with LED lighting; the four other Acquarella®-equipped Utopia® models each carry one. The Ravello™ is the only Utopia® model without a water feature. Seven Seas Pools & Spas demonstrates the Acquarella® Waterfall filled and lit at every Utopia® showroom appointment.

What It Is

The Acquarella® Waterfall is a built-in architectural water feature integrated into the spa's shell rather than a clip-on accessory. The feature delivers a cascading water column from above the seat area, paired with LED lighting for evening and night-time visual effect.

Acquarella® is engineered as both a visual and an acoustic signature:

  • Visual cascade that animates the spa surface and provides a moving water feature visible from the spa and from nearby seating areas
  • LED lighting integrated into the waterfall column, coordinated with the spa's broader lighting scheme through the Advent® LCD Touchscreen Control
  • Acoustic softening through the white-noise sound of the cascade, which masks ambient sound and contributes to the soak atmosphere

The Acquarella® feature is exclusive to the Utopia® Series within Caldera's lineup. The Paradise® and Vacanza® series typically do not include water features; the Fantasy® series carries a generic "waterfall" feature on some models without the Acquarella® branding or LED integration.

How It Works

The Acquarella® Waterfall combines three elements:

  • Architectural water column plumbed through the spa's circulation system, sized and positioned for a visible cascade effect

  • LED lighting mounted inside the waterfall column or adjacent to it, illuminating the falling water from below or behind

  • Advent® LCD Touchscreen Control integration that lets bathers turn the cascade and the LED lighting on or off and coordinate the lighting with the spa's perimeter and cabinet lighting scheme

Because the waterfall is plumbed through the spa's existing circulation rather than running on a dedicated pump, owners do not see a separate maintenance cycle or energy draw beyond the spa's standard operation.

The Acquarella® Waterfall is a visual and acoustic feature best evaluated in person. The cascade pattern and the LED lighting effect feel different from spec-sheet descriptions. Seven Seas Utopia® showroom appointments include the Acquarella® filled and lit, with the Advent® touchscreen demonstrating lighting coordination.

Which Hot Tubs Carry It

Acquarella® Waterfall is exclusive to the Caldera Utopia® Series. Within the Utopia® lineup, the Acquarella® ships on five of the six models. The Ravello™ is the only Utopia® model without a water feature.

The two-Acquarella® configuration on the Cantabria® is unique within the Utopia® lineup. The Cantabria® is the largest Utopia® at 8 adults and 74 jets, and the dual-waterfall layout is part of the flagship's identity. The five other Utopia® water-feature models each carry a single Acquarella® Waterfall.

The Ravello™ is the smallest Utopia® model at 3 adults. It retains the UltraMassage® Lounge and the Advent® LCD Touchscreen but does not include a water feature. If you want the smallest Utopia® footprint, the Acquarella® cascade is one of the Utopia® signatures that the Ravello™ omits.

Acquarella® in the Utopia® Soak Experience

The Acquarella® cascade is engineered as a backdrop to the rest of the Utopia® soak rather than a standalone hydrotherapy feature. Bathers running through Caldera's Hot Tub Circuit Therapy sequence pass through the Atlas® Neck Massage, the UltraMassage® Lounge, the EcstaSeat®, and the other Utopia® seats while the Acquarella® animates the spa surface in the background. The LED lighting integration makes the feature particularly notable during evening soaks, when the lit cascade contributes to the atmosphere the Utopia® line is built around.

Acquarella® vs Hot Spring Highlife® and Limelight® Water Features

The Hot Spring Spas water-feature approach is distinct from Caldera's Acquarella®. Within the Hot Spring lineup, the BellaFontana® water feature is the Highlife® Series signature and the Vidro® Backlit Ribbon Waterfall is the Limelight® Series signature. Each Watkins Wellness brand uses its water-feature signature to anchor a different premium-tier visual identity.

The Cantabria® flagship carries two Acquarella® Waterfalls with LED lighting. If you're reaching for the dual-cascade configuration as part of the flagship visual signature, focus on the Cantabria® specifically. The five other Utopia® water-feature models (Geneva®, Tahitian®, Niagara®, Florence®) each carry one Acquarella® Waterfall.

The Ravello™ is the smallest Utopia® model at 3 adults and 39 jets. The compact seat layout retains the UltraMassage® Lounge but does not include a water feature. If you want the smallest Utopia® footprint, the Acquarella® cascade is the Utopia® signature that the Ravello™ omits.

Acquarella® is a Utopia®-only feature. If you're cross-shopping into Paradise® or Vacanza® for budget reasons, know that the Acquarella® architectural cascade with LED lighting is a Utopia®-tier signature. The Fantasy® series carries a generic "waterfall" feature on some models but without the Acquarella® branding or the integrated LED lighting.

The LED lighting integrated into the Acquarella® cascade is controlled through the Advent® LCD Touchscreen Control. Owners can coordinate the waterfall lighting with the spa's perimeter and cabinet lighting scheme to set evening soak atmosphere.

The Acquarella® Waterfall is plumbed through the spa's standard circulation system and does not run on a dedicated pump. There is no Acquarella®-specific maintenance cycle. The Utopia® line uses the FreshWater® IQ Salt System for sanitization (covered in the salt-water care guide) and standard Utopia® filtration (covered in the filter care guide). Both routines cover the water passing through the Acquarella® column.
