R-Series Swim Spas by Endless Pools

The R-Series is the value tier of Endless Pools, the swim-spa specialist brand within the Watkins Wellness family alongside Hot Spring Spas and Caldera Spas. The series is built around RecSport® Technology, Endless Pools' multi-speed jetted swim current, paired with a wood frame and molded acrylic shell, 230 V / 30 amp standard electrical service (60 amp optional), and a recreation- and family-focused positioning. The R-Series balances recreation, relaxation, and resistance, an accessible 12-foot entry into the Endless Pools swim-spa lineup. Three models, R200, R220, R500, span 12-foot compact through 15-foot family-recreation. The R-Series is sold and serviced through Seven Seas Pools & Spas.

R-Series at a Glance

What makes the R-Series distinct from the E-Series and X-Series: the RecSport® current platform, the wood frame construction, the 30-amp standard electrical service, the smaller 12-foot compact footprints at the R200 and R220, and the explicit value-and-recreation positioning.

Who the R-Series Is Built For

The R-Series is built for if you want an accessible Endless Pools swim spa, a real Endless Pools current technology, a real Endless Pools dealer network, and a real Endless Pools warranty framework, at a friendlier electrical service profile and a more recreational positioning than the premium E-Series.

Who the R-Series fits:
  • Active families who want a swim spa for kids' play, family fun, water aerobics, and lighter exercise, the R200 adds a shallow entry zone designed for active families with young children, and the R500 adds extra interior room for larger family use
  • If you're cross-shopping a hot tub vs swim spa who want the smallest Endless Pools footprint, the 12-foot R200 and R220 are more retrofit-friendly than the 15-to-20-foot E-Series and X-Series models
  • If you have constrained electrical service, the R-Series runs on 230 V / 30 amp standard, friendlier for retrofit installs than the 60-amp E-Series / X-Series standard
  • Entertainers and large social-use households, the R220 is the entertainment-focused R-Series model and carries the highest jet count in the current Endless Pools swim-spa lineup
  • Want recreational adjustable swimming without needing the premium pace ceiling of Hydrodrive™, RecSport® delivers a smooth adjustable current sized for fun, all-level fitness rather than competitive race-pace lap training
It is not the right tier if you:
  • Need a competitive 1:08-per-100-yard race-pace ceiling, that's the Hydrodrive™ ceiling on the E-Series
  • Want the Underwater Treadmill, that's an E-Series option
  • Want the dual-temperature 2-zone architecture with simultaneous swim zone and spa zone at independent temperatures, that's the E2000 (E-Series) and X2000 (X-Series)
  • Want a galvanized steel frame rather than wood, that's E-Series construction
  • Want the cross-training-focused SwimCross® current, that's X-Series territory
  • Prefer a hot-tub-only experience without swim function, Seven Seas carries Hot Spring Spas and Caldera Spas for traditional hot-tub installations

Defining Technologies

RecSport® is the R-Series signature swim current, a smooth, adjustable jetted swim current designed for fun, all-level fitness, and uninterrupted recreational swims. RecSport® is recreation- and fitness-friendly rather than a competitive lap-pace platform, the adjustability supports a beginner swimmer, a kid playing in the current, or an adult doing water aerobics. The R-Series omits the high pace-setting count and 1:08 race-pace ceiling that define the E-Series Hydrodrive™ system.

R-Series swim spas are built on a wood frame with a molded acrylic shell. This is one of the structural differentiators between the R-Series and the premium E-Series, which uses a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame with an ABS base pan. The wood-frame construction supports the value-tier price point, it is engineered to a different durability spec than the steel-frame premium tier.

The R220 carries the Tri-Thermic Barrier System, Endless Pools' multi-layer thermal package engineered to maintain water temperature through cold-weather operation. This appears as a distinct callout on the R220 page.

The R220 uses CD Ozone water care, corona-discharge ozone sanitization, a layer of secondary water-care oxidation that reduces routine sanitizer dosing.

Every R-Series model ships with a 4,000 W / 230 V heater and a GFCI sub-panel, same heater rating as the E-Series, scaled to the smaller water volumes of the 12-and-15-foot R-Series footprints.

The R500 is certified to the APSP 14 National Standard and California Energy Commission standards, the same energy-efficiency certifications carried on the premium E-Series.

R-Series Compared to Other Endless Pools Series

The R-Series sits at the value end of the Endless Pools tier ladder. The other two series each tune around a different swim-current technology, a different frame construction, and a different price tier.

R-Series vs E-Series

R-Series compared to the E-Series

The E-Series is the premium tier, four models (E500, E550, E700, E2000) built around Hydrodrive™ Technology with up to 116 pace settings and a competitive 1:08-per-100-yard max pace, a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame, 230 V / 60 amp standard electrical service, an optional Underwater Treadmill on every model, and a 2-Zone Temperature Control flagship in the E2000. If you want serious lap-swim pace control, a steel frame, the treadmill option, or the dual-temperature flagship step up to the E-Series. If you want a friendlier electrical install, a smaller compact footprint, and a more recreational positioning at a more accessible entry point start at the R-Series.

R-Series vs X-Series

R-Series compared to the X-Series

The X-Series is the cross-training-focused mid tier, two models (X500, X2000) built around SwimCross® Technology. The X-Series sits between the R-Series and the E-Series on positioning. SwimCross® is a smooth, adjustable swim current with variable-resistance cross-training emphasis. The X-Series adds the X2000 dual-temperature flagship, a 20-foot two-zone spa with a fitness-focused front swim zone and a hot-tub-temperature spa zone at the back. If you want a fitness-focused current and the dual-temperature option without stepping all the way to the E-Series step up to the X-Series. If you want the most accessible Endless Pools entry, the 12-foot compact footprint, or the R220's entertainment jet count start at the R-Series.

R-Series Compared to Hot Tubs

R-Series swim spa compared to hot tubs

A swim spa is a different category of product from a hot tub. Even at the value tier, the R-Series is a 12-to-15-foot tank with a 1,000-to-1,800-gallon water volume, substantially larger than a typical 7-foot hot tub. R-Series customers who genuinely want a hot-tub-only experience without swim function should compare against the Hot Spring Spas and Caldera Spas lineups, both Watkins Wellness sister brands focused on hydrotherapy. A hot tub typically offers a smaller footprint, lower electrical service (often 30 to 50 amp), simpler delivery, and lower lifecycle cost on water care than even an entry-tier swim spa. Seven Seas carries all three Watkins Wellness brands, visit a showroom to compare.

Buying Considerations for the R-Series

The R-Series ranges from 12 feet (R200, R220) up to 15 feet (R500). The 12-foot entries are the smallest footprints in the entire Endless Pools swim-spa catalog, relevant for retrofit backyards where the 15-to-20-foot E-Series and X-Series footprints don't fit. A level reinforced concrete pad rated for the filled weight (or a deck engineered to the same load) is required, plus service clearance on at least one side. The Seven Seas team handles a site assessment as part of the installation service.

Every R-Series model is 230 V / 30 amp standard with a 230 V / 60 amp optional upgrade and a GFCI sub-panel included. The 30-amp standard is the friendliest electrical service in the Endless Pools lineup, practically meaningful for retrofit installs where service-panel capacity is constrained. Seven Seas coordinates the licensed-electrician install during the site assessment.

Even at 12 feet, R-Series swim spas are larger than a hot tub and typically require careful delivery planning. The Seven Seas delivery service coordinates the path-of-travel, gate-clearance check, and crane scheduling where required.

The R220 specifies CD Ozone water care. Filter cleaning runs on a monthly cadence, see the swim spa filter care guide in the owners area.

Indoor R-Series installations are supported with proper ventilation and drainage, see the swim-spa indoor installation guide for full requirements: moisture-resistant floor structure rated for the filled weight, active humidity ventilation, and code-compliant drainage.

Maintenance and Ownership

Owners benefit from the Seven Seas owners area, the post-purchase content hub covering water care, filter care, seasonal routines, and troubleshooting for swim-spa owners specifically. R-Series-specific maintenance touchpoints:

  • Ozone water care (R220). Corona-discharge ozone provides a layer of secondary oxidation; routine sanitizer dosing is reduced (not eliminated).
  • Filter care. Monthly cleaning of the cartridge filter, see the swim spa filter care guide.
  • Drain and refill. Swim-spa drain-and-refill intervals are typically every 3-6 months depending on use intensity. The R-Series water volumes (1,080 to 1,785 gallons) are smaller than the E-Series and X-Series volumes, drain-and-refill is correspondingly faster.
  • Winterizing. The swim-spa winterizing guide covers cold-weather considerations for households who choose to drain seasonally. The R220's Tri-Thermic Barrier System is engineered for cold-climate operation without seasonal drain.
  • Cover care. Standard cover ships with the spa; cover-lifter accessories vary by model.

For ongoing professional care, Seven Seas offers the swim spa water care service, periodic drain-and-refill, balance check, and filter replacement carried out by trained technicians.

Frequently Asked Questions

Five things together: the RecSport® swim-current platform; the wood-frame construction (vs the 14-gauge galvanized steel frame on the E-Series); the 230 V / 30 amp standard electrical service (vs 60 amp on the E-Series and X-Series); the smaller 12-foot compact footprints at the entry; and the explicit value-and-recreation positioning, the R-Series balances recreation, relaxation, and resistance at the most accessible Endless Pools entry point.

Three: R200 (12' compact entry), R220 (12' "Ultimate Party Pool"), and R500 (15' family-recreation).

Both are 12-foot R-Series swim spas with the RecSport® current. The R200 is the affordable 12-foot entry, 1,335-gallon water capacity, 2 hydromassage seats, and a shallow entry zone designed for active families with young children. The R220 is the entertainment variant, the highest jet count in the current Endless Pools swim-spa lineup, plus the Tri-Thermic Barrier System, CD Ozone water care, and an optional Bluetooth sound system. Same length, different focus, the R200 leans family-recreation, the R220 leans entertainment.

Every R-Series model runs on 230 V / 30 amp standard with a 230 V / 60 amp optional upgrade and a GFCI sub-panel included. The 30-amp standard is the friendliest electrical service in the Endless Pools lineup, practically meaningful for retrofit installs where the existing service panel is limited. The E-Series and X-Series step up to 60-amp standard.

RecSport® is "smooth, adjustable RecSport® jetted current for fun, all-level fitness and uninterrupted swims", it supports continuous swim-in-place sessions and lighter fitness use. It's not engineered for the same competitive 1:08-per-100-yard race-pace ceiling that Hydrodrive™ hits on the E-Series. Buyers focused on serious lap training at race-pace effort are routed to the E-Series. Buyers focused on family swim, water aerobics, and lighter exercise are well-served by the R-Series.

The wood-frame-with-molded-acrylic-shell construction is a structural-cost decision that supports the R-Series value-tier price point. The wood frame is engineered to the durability spec required for the 12-to-15-foot R-Series tanks. The E-Series uses a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame as a premium-tier durability differentiator on the larger 15-to-20-foot E-Series tanks.

Yes, the R500 product page calls out "Certified to APSP 14 National Standard and California Energy Commission standards." The Tri-Thermic Barrier System on the R220 is a thermal-package callout supporting cold-climate operation.

Yes, with proper ventilation and drainage. Indoor swim-spa installations require a moisture-resistant floor structure rated for the filled weight, active humidity ventilation, an electrician-approved 230 V feed, and code-compliant drainage. See the swim-spa indoor installation guide for full requirements.

The R-Series is the value tier with the RecSport® current and a wood frame, friendlier electrical at 30-amp standard, smaller 12-foot compact footprints, more recreational positioning. The E-Series is the premium tier with the Hydrodrive™ current and the galvanized steel frame, race-pace ceiling, optional Underwater Treadmill on every model, and the dual-temperature flagship in the E2000. The X-Series is the cross-training-focused mid tier with the SwimCross® current, variable-resistance training and the X2000 dual-temperature flagship.

Endless Pools does not publish a single consolidated warranty page on its manufacturer site, coverage terms appear on individual product pages and warranty documents at the time of order. Seven Seas walks every R-Series buyer through the current warranty document for the specific model and configuration at the time of sale and processes warranty claims locally for spas sold from our locations.

Endless Pools is headquartered at 1601 Dutton Mill Road, Aston, Pennsylvania, part of Watkins Wellness, a MASCO company. The Watkins Wellness parent is based in Vista, California, where sister brands Hot Spring Spas and Caldera Spas are also manufactured.
