A traditional sauna is the dry-heat-and-rocks sauna, the original recovery ritual. The heat source is a sauna heater filled with stones; pour water on the stones and the room fills with soft, breathable steam. You choose dry heat, steam, or both in the same session. At Seven Seas, every traditional sauna in the lineup is a Tylö cabin from one of three collections, the indoor Halmstad™ Collection, the outdoor Lulea™ Collection, or the premium-aspen Reflection™ Collection, paired with a Tylö heater built around IntelliAir™ heat management and ThermoSafe™ touch-safe siding.

What a Traditional Sauna Is

A traditional sauna delivers heat from hot rocks, the original sauna heating principle. The heater stones reach temperature, the cabin warms, and you add water, often with essential oils, to the rocks for breathable steam. Tylö describes this as sauna in its purest form, the original recovery ritual, crafted for modern life.

Three things define the traditional sauna experience at Seven Seas:

Heat from hot rocks. Every Tylö traditional cabin pairs a stone-filled heater with the IntelliAir™ airflow and temperature-control platform. The heater fields 50 lbs of stones across the Crown™, Sense™ Bliss, and Sense™ Sport heater families.
Steam on demand. Pour water on the rocks for soft, breathable steam, add essential oils for aromatherapy. The Sense™ Bliss heater family includes an integrated aromatherapy reservoir for this purpose.
Cabin temperature you can adjust. The Bliss™ Control Panel and Tylo Sauna App control temperature, lighting, and sound on the indoor collections; the Sense™ Sport heater family runs the same heat platform on built-in timer and temperature controls without the touchscreen.

The Halmstad™ Collection is the indoor classic, classic steam-and-rock experience in modern, refined form. Three models cover 2-, 3-, and 4-person capacities. The Halmstad™ 2 runs on a 120V plug-and-play Sense™ Mini heater; the Halmstad™ 3 and Halmstad™ 4 step to the 240V Sense™ Bliss 6.

Lulea™, The Outdoor, Year-Round Sauna

The Lulea™ Collection is built without compromise, engineered for year-round outdoor performance. A steel roof, tinted tempered glass, and a clear-hemlock cabin handle the weather; the Sense™ Bliss 8 heater runs the heat. Two models, Lulea™ 3 and Lulea™ 4, cover 3-person and 4-person outdoor layouts.

Reflection™, The Premium Indoor Flagship

The Reflection™ Collection is Tylö's premium indoor traditional line, premium aspen interior, smoked tempered glass, and the Crown™ 8 heater with built-in chromotherapy LED in the heater itself. Two models, Reflection™ 3 and Reflection™ 4, are architectural, intuitive, and profoundly calming.

Things to Know Before Buying a Traditional Sauna

Most traditional Tylö models require a 240V hardwired connection. The Halmstad™ 2 is the exception, 120V / 15 or 20 Amp plug-and-play. The Halmstad™ 3 and 4 step to 240V / 25 Amp; the Lulea™ 3 and 4 run 240V / 35 Amp; the Reflection™ 3 and 4 run 240V.
Stone capacity is 50 lbs across all Tylö heaters. Plan for stone replacement as part of normal lifecycle maintenance.
Indoor vs. outdoor matters. Halmstad™ and Reflection™ are listed as indoor only; Lulea™ is outdoor only. Pick the collection that matches your install plan.

Aromatherapy reservoir. The Sense™ Bliss heater family includes a built-in aromatherapy reservoir, add water and essential oils for breathable, scented steam.
ThermoSafe™ touch-safe heater siding ships standard across all Tylö heaters, the side panels stay safe to the touch at temperature without a separate heater guard.
