SwimCross Technology

SwimCross® Technology

SwimCross® Technology is Endless Pools' twin-pump swim-current platform and the defining propulsion system of the X-Series. Per Endless Pools, SwimCross® delivers a "smooth, adjustable current for fun, all-level fitness and uninterrupted swims." The system is built on twin 2.5 HP propulsion pumps, configured as a side-by-side jetted current engineered for variable-resistance cross-training rather than for race-pace lap swimming. SwimCross® powers the X500 and X2000, and it is exclusive to the X-Series.

What It Is

SwimCross® Technology is the twin-pump variant of Endless Pools' swim-current portfolio. Where Hydrodrive™ on the E-Series uses a single dedicated swim pump and a published race-pace ceiling, SwimCross® uses two 2.5 HP propulsion pumps working together to drive a wider, side-by-side current channel engineered for paired training and cross-training workouts.

The X-Series identity is fitness-first. SwimCross® sits between RecSport®, the entry-tier jetted recreational current, and Hydrodrive™, the premium-tier single-pump current with a race-pace ceiling. Its differentiator is the twin-pump architecture and cross-training positioning, not a race-pace pace number.

How It Works

The mechanical specification per the Endless Pools spec grid:

  • Twin 2.5 HP propulsion pumps, spec'd as 2x2.5HP on both X-Series models
  • 230 V / 60 amp electrical service on both the X500 and X2000, with an included GFCI sub-panel
  • 4,000 W / 230 V heater sized for year-round operation
  • Smooth, adjustable jetted current tuned for variable-resistance training across aerobic, recovery, and uninterrupted-swim use cases
  • Hydrotherapy seats in the spa zone for total-body relaxation after the workout
  • UVC + CD Ozone on the X500, with UVC + CD Ozone in the X2000 swim zone and CD Ozone in the X2000 spa zone

The twin-pump architecture is the engineering decision that separates SwimCross® from the single-pump Hydrodrive™ on the E-Series. It is the foundation of the cross-training swim experience the X-Series is marketed around.

Where It Ships

SwimCross® Technology is standard equipment on every X-Series model carried at Seven Seas. The X-Series is the only Endless Pools tier that ships with SwimCross®.

X-Series (Cross-Training Mid Tier, 2 Models)

X-Series (Cross-Training Mid Tier, 2 Models)

  • X2000, 20-foot dual-temperature flagship, 5-foot 350-gallon spa zone at 104°F running simultaneously with a 15-foot swim zone, 36 jets total across the spa zone
  • X500, 15-foot fitness-focused single-zone, 27 jets, 14-gauge galvanized steel frame with ABS base pan

The X2000 is the dual-temperature variant. The X500 is the single-zone variant. Both share the twin-pump SwimCross® current and the fitness-first positioning.

SwimCross® vs Hydrodrive™ vs RecSport®

The three Endless Pools swim-current technologies sit one per series, each tuned to a different swimming style and tier.

Aspect SwimCross® (X-Series) Hydrodrive™ (E-Series) RecSport® (R-Series)
Propulsion Twin propulsion pumps (2x 2.5 HP) Single dedicated swim pump (5 HP on E500, E700, E2000) Multi-speed jetted current (2.5 HP on R200, R220)

SwimCross® is the fitness-platform middle ground inside the Endless Pools lineup. It is the answer for if you want twin-pump propulsion, variable-resistance training, and, on the X2000, dual-temperature operation without stepping all the way up to the E-Series Hydrodrive™ tier.

SwimCross® and the X-Series Stack

SwimCross® is the propulsion technology, but the X-Series swim experience also depends on the rest of the stack:

  • Molded Acrylic Shell in Alpine White or Ice Gray
  • 14-Gauge Galvanized Steel Frame with ABS Base Pan on the X500, with the X2000 using a Thermoformed ABS Base Pan
  • 4,000 W / 230 V heater with an included GFCI sub-panel
  • UVC + CD Ozone on the X500 and on the X2000 swim zone, with CD Ozone in the X2000 spa zone
  • 2-Zone Temperature Control on the X2000, the dual-temperature flagship architecture
  • Hydromassage seats with hydrotherapy jets in the X2000 spa zone and integrated seats on the X500

SwimCross® does the swimming and cross-training resistance work. The rest of the stack determines the spa-zone experience and year-round operating profile.

Buying Considerations

SwimCross® uses a different engineering approach than single-pump Hydrodrive™. The twin-pump configuration powers a wider current channel suited to cross-training and side-by-side workouts, but it is not a "two times the swim power" claim.

The X500 is a single-zone 15-foot swim spa with one temperature setting across the whole tank. The X2000 is a 20-foot dual-temperature flagship with a 15-foot swim zone and a 5-foot 350-gallon spa zone running simultaneously at independent temperatures.

Both X-Series models run 230 V / 60 amp with an included GFCI sub-panel. The wiring run to the sub-panel is the buyer's responsibility, coordinated by Seven Seas with a licensed electrician. If you have a 30-amp service constraint should look at the R-Series with RecSport® instead.

SwimCross® feels different from Hydrodrive™ and RecSport®. Seven Seas advisors arrange private wet-test soak appointments with the swim current running at multiple pace settings. Call or stop by your local location to confirm which X-Series models are currently on display.

SwimCross® does not require feature-specific maintenance beyond the standard X-Series routine. UVC + CD Ozone covers daily sanitization; filtration runs on the standard monthly cadence covered in the swim-spa filter care guide. The dual-temperature X2000 carries the standard 2-zone maintenance routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. SwimCross® is the dedicated X-Series swim-current technology. The E-Series uses Hydrodrive™ and the R-Series uses RecSport®.

Per the Endless Pools spec grid, both X-Series models list the propulsion system as 2x 2.5 HP twin pumps. The two pumps work together to drive the side-by-side swim channel that defines the SwimCross® experience.

The X500 is a 15-foot single-zone fitness-focused swim spa with 27 jets and a 14-gauge galvanized steel frame. The X2000 is a 20-foot dual-temperature flagship with a 15-foot swim zone and a 5-foot 350-gallon spa zone.

No. Endless Pools does not publish a competitive race-pace number for SwimCross® at the level of detail given for Hydrodrive™. SwimCross® is positioned around variable-resistance fitness training and cross-training workouts.

Hydrodrive™ uses a single dedicated swim pump with 31 or 116 pace settings and a published 1:08-per-100-yard max pace. SwimCross® uses twin 2.5 HP propulsion pumps in a side-by-side configuration positioned around cross-training and variable resistance.

Yes. The X2000 runs the rear 5-foot 350-gallon spa zone at 104°F independently from the front 15-foot swim zone. The two zones operate simultaneously.

Both X-Series models require 230 V / 60 amp service with an included GFCI sub-panel. If you have a 30-amp service constraint should consider the R-Series with RecSport® instead.
