E550 Swim Spa

E-Series Swim Spas by Endless Pools

The E550 is the wider 15-foot E-Series swim spa from Endless Pools, the swim-spa specialist brand within the Watkins Wellness family. Built around Hydrodrive™ adjustable swim-current technology with a 94-inch beam (5 inches wider than the E500) and a standing-room-only layout with no fixed seating, the E550 is positioned by Endless Pools as "VIP Lane" and "built for action!", engineered for vigorous workouts with no compromises on functionality. Hydrodrive™ delivers up to 116 adjustable pace settings with a max pace of 1:08 per 100 yards (1:11 per 100 meters) and a "smooth, adjustable current for fun, all-level fitness and uninterrupted swims." Two configurations are offered: standard swim, or swim with the optional Underwater Treadmill for low-impact walking and running workouts. The E550 is sold and serviced through Seven Seas Pools & Spas.

Who the E550 Is Built For

The E550 fits households that want a wider workout-focused E-Series swim spa, same 15-foot length as the E500 but 5 inches wider (94" vs 89") with a standing-room-only layout that drops fixed seating in favor of maximum workout space. The E550 fits if you use the spa primarily for vigorous workouts (water aerobics, cross-training, swim drills, treadmill walking) rather than relaxed soaking. The 94-inch beam supports wider swim strokes and broader workout movement; the absence of fixed seating means the entire footprint is usable workout space. Hydrodrive™ Technology with 116 pace settings and a 1:08 race-pace ceiling is the same lap-swim machine the rest of the E-Series uses.

It is not the right swim spa for households who:
  • Want a hydromassage-focused soak experience with multiple seats, see the E500 (3 seats, 27 jets), E700 (17 feet, 3 seats), or any R-Series spa
  • Need a longer swim zone, see the E700 (17 feet)
  • Need separate swim and spa zones at different temperatures, see the dual-temperature E2000 or X2000
  • Want a recreation-focused swim spa at a more accessible price tier, see the R-Series (RecSport®) or X-Series (SwimCross®)
  • Prefer a hot-tub-only experience without swim function, Seven Seas carries Caldera Spas and Hot Spring Spas for traditional hot tub installations

The E550 uses Endless Pools' Hydrodrive™ Technology, the company's signature adjustable swim current. The current is smooth and adjustable, tuned for all-level fitness and uninterrupted swims.

The 116-step adjustability lets a beginner swimmer set a slow drift current and a competitive swimmer crank up to a 1:08-per-100 race-pace effort, all within the same spa.

The E550's jet configuration is intentionally different from the seat-focused E500 and E700: jets are positioned for standing hydromassage and post-workout muscle recovery rather than seated soak. The whole spa is built for action, the jet layout reinforces the workout-first design.

The E550 ships with UVC + CD Ozone Dual-layer protection as standard sanitization, UV-C light sterilization paired with corona-discharge ozone, both targeting waterborne contaminants without dosing the spa with manual chlorine for daily upkeep.

Variants and Configuration Options

The E550 is offered in two configurations, same shell, same Hydrodrive™ swim current, same jet count, with the difference being whether the Underwater Treadmill is installed in the swim zone.

E550 Swim standard configuration

E550 Swim (Standard Configuration)

The base E550. Standing-room-only layout, 23 jets, the Hydrodrive™ adjustable swim current with 116 pace settings, and an open swim/workout zone. This is the right configuration if you're focused on vigorous workouts, water-aerobic exercise, and freestyle swim drills.

E550 Swim with Underwater Treadmill

E550 Swim + Underwater Treadmill (Optional Configuration)

The same E550 with the Underwater Treadmill installed in the swim zone, exclusive technology for low-impact workouts. You walk or run on a submerged belt while the swim current adjusts to match pace. The treadmill adds approximately 121 pounds of dry weight and slightly displaces water capacity (2,360 vs 2,391 gallons). Functionally, the spa still supports swim and workout movement when the treadmill is not in use; the treadmill is a dual-purpose addition rather than a replacement of swim function.

E550 Swim Spa

See if the E550 fits your space

Review the footprint, Hydrodrive™ current, optional treadmill, and delivery requirements with a Seven Seas advisor.

The E550 Swim Spa Experience

Sessions in the E550 follow a workout-first rhythm: swim (current on, treadmill off, swimming laps or doing freestyle drills against the adjustable Hydrodrive™ current at one of 116 pace settings); workout (current on, treadmill engaged on the optional configuration, walking or jogging the underwater belt; or current off and the standing-room layout used for water aerobics, cross-training drills, or aquatic strength work); and recover (using the standing hydromassage jets for post-workout muscle recovery, there are no fixed seats, so recovery is upright). The E550 is the workout-first entry in the E-Series.

The E550 Swim Spa Experience

Because the E550 is a single-tank spa (the entire ~2,390-gallon volume runs at one temperature), if you want their swim zone cooler than a soak temperature should evaluate the E2000 dual-temperature option.

Ready for a private E550 wet test?

The E550 is part of the lineup carried by Seven Seas Pools & Spas. Call ahead or stop by your local location to confirm current showroom availability and to book a private wet-test soak appointment, visiting a showroom is the fastest way to feel the Hydrodrive™ current at multiple pace settings, evaluate the standing-room workout layout, see the wider 94-inch beam in person, and (where the optional treadmill is on display) walk the underwater belt. Seven Seas advisors can also walk through site-prep, electrical-coordination, and delivery logistics during the same visit.

Installation and Delivery

The E550 requires a 230 V / 60 amp / 60 Hz circuit wired to a GFCI sub-panel, the sub-panel ships with the spa.

Site requirements:

Installation and Delivery
  • Level reinforced concrete pad rated for 25,243 lbs filled (slightly less with the treadmill option), or a deck engineered for the same load

  • Service clearance on at least one side for equipment access

  • 15-foot minimum length and 94-inch beam clearance for the spa shell, plus delivery / craning clearance, the E550 is 5 inches wider than the E500/E700, a meaningful detail for tight delivery paths

Seven Seas Pools & Spas coordinates the full delivery and installation flow: site assessment, electrical coordination with a licensed electrician, delivery scheduling, GFCI sub-panel mounting, post-fill water balancing, and a hands-on walkthrough of the Hydrodrive™ controls. The E550's wider beam and 25,243-lb filled weight make site-prep clearance verification a priority, Seven Seas' delivery team confirms path and pad before the build slot.

Water Care and Ongoing Maintenance

The UVC + CD Ozone Dual-layer sanitization keeps weekly water-care simple. UV-C light handles waterborne bacteria as water passes through the system; corona-discharge ozone provides a secondary oxidation layer. The system is APSP 14 compliant and CEC certified for energy efficiency.

Filter cleaning runs on a monthly cadence, see the swim spa filter care guide in the owners area. With the standing-room-only layout positioned for vigorous workouts, owners who use the spa intensively should expect more frequent water-care cycles. Seven Seas walks every owner through the schedule during the post-delivery handoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

The E550's 94-inch (239 cm) beam is 5 inches wider than the 89-inch beam used by the E500, E700, E2000, and X-Series spas. The wider beam supports broader stroke mechanics, wider workout movement, and the standing-room-only layout. Buyers comparing the E500 and E550 should verify their site's delivery path and pad will accommodate the wider beam.

By design, the E550 is standing-room-only to maximize workout space. The spa is built for action, with no fixed seating, freeing the entire footprint for vigorous workouts. The 23 jets are configured for standing hydromassage and post-workout muscle recovery rather than seated soak. If you want seated hydromassage should look at the E500 (3 seats) or E700 (3 seats) instead.

This is a configuration choice made at order. The treadmill installs in the swim zone during manufacturing. Ask your Seven Seas advisor about adding the treadmill to your order before delivery; field-retrofit options vary and a Seven Seas advisor can walk through current possibilities.

The Hydrodrive™ Technology system is rated for a maximum pace of 1:08 per 100 yards (1:11 per 100 meters), with 116 adjustable pace settings between zero and the maximum. That's competitive lap pace, slow enough for a beginner, fast enough for a serious swimmer.

Both are 15-foot E-Series spas with the same Hydrodrive™ swim current, same 48-inch swim depth, same UVC + CD Ozone water care, and same 230 V / 60 amp service. The E500 is 89 inches wide with 3 contoured hydromassage seats and 27 jets, positioned for if you want swim and seated hydromassage. The E550 is 94 inches wide with no fixed seating and 23 jets in a standing-room-only layout, positioned for vigorous workouts. Visit a Seven Seas showroom to compare side-by-side.

The E550's standard electrical service is 230 V / 60 amp / 60 Hz. The spa includes a GFCI sub-panel.

Endless Pools does not publish a single warranty page on the E550 product page. Seven Seas walks every E550 buyer through the current Endless Pools warranty document at the time of sale, the structure typically includes a multi-year shell warranty plus shorter terms on components and labor. Ask for the latest warranty PDF when you visit a showroom.

Yes. The 4,000 W / 230 V heater is sized for year-round operation in U.S. climates. The 14-gauge galvanized steel frame and durable all-season cabinet are engineered for outdoor installation. Ask a Seven Seas advisor for an operating-cost estimate based on your climate zone.

Standard E550 delivery from Seven Seas runs 6-12 weeks from order, depending on current Endless Pools production lead times, configuration (swim vs swim+treadmill), and the cabinet color combination. Inventory in stock at Seven Seas locations can ship faster.

Yes, with proper ventilation and drainage. Indoor swim-spa installations require an electrician-approved 230 V / 60 amp feed, a moisture-resistant floor structure rated for 25,243+ lbs filled, active humidity ventilation (swim spas evaporate more water than hot tubs), and code-compliant drainage. The E550's 94-inch beam may also affect indoor doorway/clearance feasibility, verify with a Seven Seas advisor. See the swim-spa indoor installation guide for full requirements.
