Nowak Pittsburgh Deep Fiberglass Pool

The Pittsburgh Deep is the deep-end specialty pool in the Nowak Fiberglass Pools lineup. Named for the home region (Nowak builds out of Amity, Pennsylvania, south of Pittsburgh), the Pittsburgh Deep is engineered around a deeper-than-typical deep end for diving from the deck, underwater play, and deeper-water swim. Full dig dimensions and the exact deep-end depth are not currently published on the public manufacturer site, so we confirm the exact spec during your in-store consultation. The standard Nowak feature set applies: limited-production family build, upgraded gelcoat finish included, lifetime structural warranty plus the gelcoat and surface warranty. Available in all current Nowak gelcoat finishes. Seven Seas Pools & Spas builds and services the Pittsburgh Deep across our service area.

What makes the Pittsburgh Deep distinct in the Nowak lineup: it is the only Nowak shell engineered as a deep-end specialty pool. Every other Nowak model uses a conventional deep end at 5'10" to 6'3". The Pittsburgh Deep pushes deeper, which makes it the right answer when someone in the household wants a real deep end for casual diving from the deck or underwater play.

How to Confirm the Pittsburgh Deep Spec

Two paths to confirm the Pittsburgh Deep spec for your yard:

  1. Seven Seas consultation. We carry the printed Nowak spec sheets in-store, including the dig diagram, the depth chart, and the feature layout for the Pittsburgh Deep. The consultation also covers fit for your specific yard.
  2. Site visit. Seven Seas can bring the printed spec to a site visit, mark out the dig footprint on your yard, and confirm fit before committing to the order.

Who the Pittsburgh Deep Is Built For

The Pittsburgh Deep fits you if you want:
  • A real deep end you can dive into from the deck.
  • Deeper-water play and underwater swim drills.
  • A rectangular shape with deeper-than-typical depth.
  • The Nowak limited-production family-build manufacturing model in a deep-end specialty pool.
It's a less efficient match if you want:
  • A conventional deep end. The Grand Atlantis (6'3") and Atlantis (5'10") are the rectangular alternatives with standard deep ends.
  • A diving board. Even on a deep-end specialty pool, residential diving-board codes typically require more depth and a specific deep-end profile than a fiberglass shell provides. For competition diving, fiberglass is generally not the right construction method.
  • A freeform shape. Look at the Nowak freeform lineup (Aruba, Jupiter Island, Play Pool, Subdivision).
  • A beach entry. The Zero Entry is the only Nowak with a zero-depth beach.

Why a Real Deep End

Most fiberglass pools top out around 5'6" to 6'3" in the deep end. That is enough for swimming, casual jumps from the deck, and most underwater play. It is not enough for serious diving (handstand walks, deep cannonballs, dive-toy retrieval with sinking) without bottoming out. A deep-end specialty pool gives you depth that supports those uses without compromising the swim function of the rest of the pool.

The Pittsburgh Deep also pairs well with cold-weather climate considerations: a deeper deep end holds more thermal mass, which means the pool warms and cools more slowly. In the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest climates where Seven Seas operates, that thermal stability is a real day-to-day benefit during shoulder seasons.

Gelcoat Finish Options

The 2025 surface upgrade applies: non-pigmented gelcoat with granite-chip backing for chemical and UV resistance. The deeper deep end of the Pittsburgh Deep reads especially well in the darker Maya Mist, which gives the deeper water column more visual depth.

Pittsburgh Deep vs. Other Nowak Models

Pittsburgh Deep vs. Grand Atlantis

Pittsburgh Deep vs. Grand Atlantis

Both rectangular Nowaks. Grand Atlantis has a 6'3" deep end and a 30-foot swim floor; Pittsburgh Deep pushes deeper. Pick Grand Atlantis if a conventional deep end is enough; pick Pittsburgh Deep if you want the deeper-water capability.

Pittsburgh Deep vs. Atlantis

Pittsburgh Deep vs. Atlantis

Both rectangular. Atlantis has a 5'10" deep end in a 32' × 14' footprint; Pittsburgh Deep is the deep-end specialty rectangular pool. Confirm dimensions during the consultation.

Pittsburgh Deep vs. a concrete diving pool

Pittsburgh Deep vs. a concrete diving pool

A concrete custom pool can be designed to any diving-board-compliant depth and profile. The Pittsburgh Deep is the fiberglass approximation: deeper than a standard fiberglass shell, faster to install than concrete, lower lifetime maintenance, but fixed to the molded depth Nowak built into the shell. If competition-grade diving is the use case, the concrete path is the right one.

Common Questions

The exact deep-end depth is part of the printed Nowak spec, which Seven Seas reviews with you during the consultation. The Pittsburgh Deep is positioned as a deep-end specialty pool with deeper-than-typical depth.

Residential diving-board codes typically require more depth and a specific deep-end profile than a fiberglass shell provides. Casual diving from the deck is what the Pittsburgh Deep is engineered for. For competition diving, the concrete path is the right one.

The public site does not publish a dig diagram for the Pittsburgh Deep. Nowak prints the spec sheet for in-store and dealer use. Seven Seas has the printed spec available.

Deep-end specialty shells typically carry a price premium for the additional mold and the extra raw material required to build the deeper shell. Specific pricing is confirmed during the consultation.

Nowak's warranty position is that salt is not recommended on the gelcoat. Traditional chlorine sanitization is the recommended path. See the Nowak brand page for the full context.

Yes. The dig is deeper, which adds excavation time. The shell is heavier, which can affect the crane sizing on delivery day. Seven Seas confirms both during the site visit.

About two weeks start to finish on a typical Seven Seas Nowak install, with the deeper excavation and the heavier shell potentially pushing the timeline slightly. Confirm during the consultation.
