River Pools X Series Fiberglass Pool

The X Series is the feature-loaded rectangular pool in the River Pools lineup. Built around a sleek rectangular footprint, a molded-in integrated spa with a spillway that cascades into the main pool, a full tanning ledge for shallow lounging, and an auto-cover-ready coping line that hides the cover tracks. Two sizes: the X32 (16' × 32') and the X36 (16' × 36'). Available in all six River Pools gelcoat finishes. Seven Seas Pools & Spas builds and services the X Series across our region.

What makes the X Series distinct in the River Pools lineup: it is the only series that ships with all three premium features molded into the shell at the factory. Integrated spa, integrated tanning ledge, auto-cover-ready coping. Pick the X Series if you want pool, spa, and lounge zone in a single excavation rather than three separate installations.

Who the X Series Is Built For

The X Series fits you if you want:
  • A real spa and a pool out of one shell, plumbed off one equipment pad, and protected by one automatic safety cover.
  • A clean, modern rectangular look that pairs cleanly with concrete or paver coping.
  • A built-in tanning ledge for kids, lounge chairs, or shaded shallow seating.
  • The auto-cover hardware integrated under the coping rather than added as a visible retrofit.
It's a less efficient match if you want:
  • A freeform shape. The I Series or C Series are the curved alternatives.
  • A maxed-out lap-swim length without the spa and tanning ledge eating into the open water. The R Series gives you a full-length swim lane in the same overall footprint.
  • A separate, freestanding hot tub. A standalone Hot Spring or Caldera Spas hot tub is the better answer if you want a portable spa you can move, upgrade, or replace independently of the pool.

Models in the X Series

Model Dimensions Integrated Spa Tanning Ledge Auto-Cover Ready
X32 16' × 32' Yes Yes Yes
X36 16' × 36' Yes Yes Yes

Both models share the same feature stack. The choice between them is yard size and swim space: the X36 adds four feet of length, which buys you a longer open swim zone between the tanning ledge and the deep-end seating.

Integrated Spa Detail

The integrated spa is a 3-foot-deep molded-in spa, attached to the pool shell at the factory, with a spillway edge that pours into the main pool. The spillway runs continuously while the spa is heated, which means the spa always reads as part of the pool from a sightline standpoint. The spa runs on its own filtration and heat loop on the equipment pad. Seven Seas plumbs the spa and the pool off a shared pad and trenches the lines from the pad to the shell during the install.

If you want a hot tub that runs independently of the pool, can be drained and serviced without affecting pool operation, or that you might want to move or replace in five years, an integrated spa is not the right answer. A standalone hot tub on its own pad is. The integrated spa is the right answer when you want one architectural object in the yard rather than two.

Tanning Ledge Detail

The X Series tanning ledge is molded into the shallow end of the shell. The depth profile sits in the shallow lounging range, so you can place a partially-submerged lounge chair on the ledge and stay above water while submerged from the legs down. The ledge surface is slip-resistant gelcoat. Some installs add a single bubbler jet or umbrella sleeve at the ledge, but those are decking-pad add-ons rather than shell features.

Decking, Coping, and Auto-Cover Integration

The X Series is built with hidden cover tracks under the coping line. That means when you order an automatic safety cover with the install, the tracks tuck under the decking rather than sitting on top as a visible aluminum rail. The cover sleeve at the deep end hides under a flush bench or a low-profile cover housing.

Seven Seas's standard X Series install includes:

  • Excavation, shell set, plumbing trenching, and backfill
  • Equipment pad for pool and spa shared filtration and heating
  • Decking (concrete, paver, or stamped, your choice)
  • Coping (poured-concrete or stone, your choice)
  • Optional automatic safety cover with tracks hidden under the coping
  • Optional salt water sanitization system in place of traditional chlorine
  • Optional perimeter LED lighting

X Series vs. Other River Pools Series

X Series vs. D Series

X Series vs. D Series fiberglass pool comparison

Both are rectangular with a tanning ledge and auto-cover-ready coping. The X Series adds the integrated spa, the D Series does not. If you want the spa, X; if you don't and want more open swim space in the same footprint, D.

X Series vs. M Series

X Series vs. M Series fiberglass pool comparison

Both are rectangular and auto-cover-ready. The X Series prioritizes spa-plus-tanning-ledge; the M Series prioritizes lap-swim-plus-tanning-ledge. Pick X if you want the spa, M if you want a dedicated swim lane.

X Series vs. I Series I25S / I30S

X Series vs. I Series I25S / I30S fiberglass pool comparison

Both ship with an integrated spa. The X Series is rectangular and auto-cover-ready; the I Series is freeform and not auto-cover-ready. If the cover is non-negotiable, X. If the freeform look is non-negotiable, I.

Common Questions

Yes. The spa runs on its own heat loop and can be operated year-round in cold climates, the same way a Hot Spring hot tub runs through winter. The pool itself is winterized seasonally in cold climates; the spa keeps running.

No, the integrated spa is molded into the X Series shell at the factory. If you start with a non-spa shell and later want a spa, the cleanest path is a standalone hot tub installed beside the pool.

The spillway pours from the spa into the pool when the spa is heated, so over time the water mixes. Most installs run a shared sanitization profile across both bodies of water so the chemistry stays consistent.

Yes. Because the coping is built with the track channel from the factory, an auto-cover can be added at install time or in a later project without rebuilding the deck.
