What makes the M Series distinct in the River Pools lineup: it is the only rectangular shell engineered to be a lap pool and a hosting pool at the same time. The R Series gives you all swim space. The D Series gives you swim space plus a tanning ledge. The M Series gives you a dedicated swim lane with the tanning ledge and seating, so morning laps and Saturday-evening hosting both work without compromise.

Who the M Series Is Built For

The M Series fits you if you want:
  • A pool you can swim laps in on a weekday morning and host a group around on a weekend evening.
  • A tanning ledge that doesn't eat into the swim lane.
  • Auto-cover compatibility built into the shell.
  • A more compact footprint than a full R36 or R40 but with the same dual-use logic.
It's a less efficient match if you want:

Models in the M Series

Model Dimensions Tanning Ledge Auto-Cover Ready
M25 10' × 25' Yes Yes
M30 12' × 30' Yes Yes
M35 13.6' × 35' Yes Yes

All three models share the swim-lane-plus-ledge layout. The choice between them is yard size and swim length: the M35 gives you the longest open lane; the M25 fits the more compact yard while preserving the same dual-use logic.

Swim Lane plus Tanning Ledge Layout

The M Series interior is organized into two functional zones running parallel to each other:

  1. The swim lane runs down the long axis of the pool. Open floor, consistent slope from shallow to deep, room to push off the wall and swim a straight line.

  2. The tanning ledge sits in the shallow end as a shallow lounging zone. Slip-resistant gelcoat, depth profile that keeps a partially-submerged lounge chair above water.

The two zones share a spillway edge so the water level stays continuous. The result: you don't have to pick between swim and lounge. Both work in the same pool, used at different times.

Auto-Cover Integration

The M Series coping is built with hidden tracks for an automatic safety cover. The track channel runs the full perimeter; the cover sleeve at the deep end tucks under a low-profile housing or a flush bench. Seven Seas installs the cover at the same time as the shell so the install is one project.

M Series vs. D Series

Both are rectangular, auto-cover-ready, and ship with a tanning ledge. D prioritizes the tanning ledge as the primary use; M preserves a dedicated swim lane alongside the ledge. Pick D if lounging is the main use; pick M if you want both swim and lounge.

M Series vs. X Series

Common Questions

The M30 and M35 are the lap-friendly sizes. The M35 at 35 feet of length is the closest to a casual lap configuration. For dedicated swim training, an Endless Pools swim spa paired with the brand's current jet system gives you continuous swim distance from a smaller yard footprint.

No. The ledge runs in the shallow end as a separate zone; the swim lane runs uninterrupted through the rest of the pool.

No, the X Series spa is molded into the shell at the factory. A standalone hot tub installed next to the M Series pool is the cleanest path if you want both.

The cover passes over the ledge at the coping height, the same way it passes over the rest of the pool. The cover does not rest on the ledge surface.
