Who the Rhythm® Is Built For

The Rhythm fits households that want the most seats in the Hot Spot Series, families of five, six, or seven; regular entertainers; multigenerational households where grandparents soak alongside grandkids and an extra seat or two for guests is the difference between bringing the family together and rotating people in and out. Open seating with no lounger keeps every position usable for any height, and the elevated Cooldown Seat supports body-temperature regulation during entry, exit, or longer evening sessions.

It is not the right choice if you:
  • Want a lounger, see the Relay® (same 7' × 7' footprint, 6 seats with a Lounge Seat) or the Pace™ (5 seats with the Double Lounge)
  • Want a 115 V plug-and-play install, the Rhythm requires a 230 V / 50 amp hardwired connection. For 115 V plug-and-play options within the same series, see the Pace™, Stride®, SX, or TX
  • Want the patented Moto-Massage® DX sweeping back massage or BellaFontana® water feature, those are Highlife-tier. For a 7-person spa with Moto-Massage® DX, see the Grandee® in the Highlife® Series
  • Want the longest possible warranty in the Hot Spring lineup, the Rhythm carries 5-year structure / 2-year shell, vs. the 7-year structure and shell warranty on the Highlife® Series

The Rhythm uses two Wavemaster® jet pumps, the 6200 (two-speed) and the 6000 (one-speed), both rated 1.5 HP continuous duty / 3.2 HP breakdown torque, paired with a SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump that runs continuously for low-noise filtration. The 40 jets distribute across five engineered jet types:

Jet TypeCountTargeted Area
XL Directional Hydromassage3Deep muscle relief with a powerful directional stream
XL Rotary Hydromassage2Large rotating jet streams for deep muscle massage
Directional Hydromassage3Adjustable directional pressure
Rotary Hydromassage2Rotating circular pressure for back muscles
Directional Precision®30Adjustable up, down, left, and right for pinpoint muscle treatment across the Bucket Seats, Bench Seats, and Cooldown Seat

The jet system targets the neck, shoulders, back, wrists, calves, and feet across the seven seats.

  • Bucket Seats, purposefully shaped to cradle the body for a long relaxing soak.
  • Bench Seats, upright support with extra room to change position.
  • Cooldown Seat (elevated), sits higher in the shell to help adjust body temperature when entering and exiting. A defining feature on the Rhythm at the Hot Spot tier; useful during longer evening soaks and on hot summer nights.
  • Comfort Control®, main intensity dial for the spa. Lets users move "from a soft touch to a powerful massage" without leaving the seat.
  • SmartJet® System, not available on the Rhythm (within the Hot Spot Series, SmartJet® is specific to the Pace™).

The Rhythm is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the FreshWater® Salt System (sold separately or bundled by Seven Seas) rather than shipping with the salt system pre-installed. The salt system "automatically generates chlorine from salt for soft, natural-feeling water without harsh odors, itchy skin, or irritated eyes," with water staying clean "for up to a full year" between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

Hot Spring publishes the Rhythm's warranty terms explicitly. Seven Seas honors and processes warranty claims for every Rhythm sold:

Warranty ComponentCoverage
Structure5 years
Shell surface2 years
Cabinet2 years
Plumbing2 years
No-Fault® heater2 years

The 5-year structure warranty is the standard term across the Hot Spot® Series. If you want longer coverage step up to the Limelight® Series or the Highlife® Series (7-year structure and shell).

Hydrotherapy Experience, What a Rhythm® Soak Feels Like

The Rhythm is built for gathering rather than reclining. With seven seats in open seating, Bucket Seats that cradle the body, Bench Seats with room to shift, and the elevated Cooldown Seat for body-temperature regulation, the spa supports rotation among friends and family during a longer evening session. The purposefully arranged jet systems work together to target specific muscle groups across the neck, shoulders, back, wrists, calves, and feet. The 40 jets distribute across XL Directional Hydromassage (powerful directional streams), XL Rotary Hydromassage (large spinning circular streams), Directional Hydromassage (adjustable pressure), Rotary Hydromassage (rotating circular pressure), and Directional Precision® (adjustable up, down, left, and right for pinpoint treatment). Comfort Control® dials overall intensity from a soft touch to a powerful working massage, so the same soak can run gentle for the kids and aggressive for an adult post-workout session without changing seats. The Cooldown Seat is the unsung hero on summer nights, a place to perch and cool down before stepping out.

How the Rhythm® Compares to Other Hot Spring Spas Series

The Hot Spot Series sits in the value tier of the Hot Spring lineup, above the entry-tier Freeflow Series. From most to least premium: Highlife → Limelight → Hot Spot → Freeflow.

Highlife® Series

Highlife® Series, premium top tier (Moto-Massage® DX, FreshWater® IQ Salt included standard, BellaFontana® water feature, 7-year structure and shell warranty, IQ 2020® Color Touchscreen). The 7-person Highlife flagship is the Grandee®, the cross-tier comparison if you're debating Rhythm vs. premium 7-person spas

Seven Seas also carries the Caldera Spas brand, Hot Spring's sister Watkins Wellness line. At this value tier, cross-shopping comparisons typically include the Rhythm against Caldera's Vacanza® Series and Fantasy® Series. The two brands take different approaches to hydrotherapy, Hot Spring builds the Hot Spot experience around Comfort Control®, distinct seat shapes (Bucket and Bench), the elevated Cooldown Seat, and Hot Spring's signature jet engineering; Caldera tunes its value-tier spas around its own seat ergonomics and jet patterns. Both deliver excellent therapeutic massage at the value tier, they simply feel quite different. Seven Seas carries both brands. Call or stop by your local Seven Seas Pools & Spas location to see which Caldera and Hot Spring models are currently on display and available for comparison. The full Caldera vs Hot Spring comparison covers the differences in detail.

Installation and Delivery

The Rhythm requires a 230 V / 50 amp / 60 Hz hardwired circuit wired to a GFCI-protected subpanel, the subpanel is included with the spa. Site requirements:

Installation and Delivery
  • Level reinforced concrete pad, deck capable of supporting 4,820 lbs filled, or a prepared spa pad

  • 24" minimum service clearance on at least one side for equipment access

  • Standard delivery to ground-level installations

Seven Seas offers full delivery and installation service including site assessment, electrical coordination with a licensed electrician, and post-fill water balancing.

Water Care and Ongoing Maintenance

Because the Rhythm is FreshWater® Salt System Ready rather than salt-installed-standard, owners can choose to run the spa on traditional chlorine or bromine water care, or upgrade to the FreshWater® Salt System (chlorine generated automatically from salt) at any point. Seven Seas typically bundles the salt system into the install or fits it later. The salt-water cycle can hold water balance for "up to a full year" between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

The 100% no-bypass filtration with Polyester Filters with Free-Flow Core means every drop of water passes through the filters during jet operation, unlike spas that bypass their filters when jets are running. With 65 sq. ft. of effective filtration area and a SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump running continuously, the Rhythm turns over its 330 gallons frequently. Filter cleaning runs on a monthly cadence, see the filter care guide in the owners area. For broader guidance, the salt-water hot tub care guide covers cartridge replacement, ozone interaction (an optional add-on on the Rhythm), and seasonal draining intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the Rhythm's seven seats give a family of five or six their own seat plus a guest seat or two. Open seating means everyone gets the same posture (no one is "stuck" with the lounger), and the elevated Cooldown Seat lets one person perch and cool down while others continue soaking. For a family of four with frequent guest entertaining, the Relay® (6 seats, lounger included) on the same 7' × 7' footprint may be a better fit if a lounger is wanted.

Both share the same 7' × 7' × 36" footprint and the same 40-jet count. The differences:

  • Rhythm®: 7 seats with open seating and an elevated Cooldown Seat (no lounger), 330 gal water capacity, 4,820 lbs filled
  • Relay®: 6 seats with a Lounge Seat included, 340 gal water capacity, 4,715 lbs filled

Pick the Rhythm to seat seven and gain the Cooldown Seat; pick the Relay for the lounger.

No. The Rhythm is hardwired 230 V / 50 amp / 60 Hz only. For 115 V plug-and-play options within the Hot Spot Series, see the Pace™, Stride®, SX, or TX. The trade-off: a 230 V install delivers a 4,000 W heater, faster recovery from cover-off, and the simultaneous high-pump performance the Rhythm needs to push 40 jets.

The Cooldown Seat is positioned higher in the shell than the other seats so the soaker can sit with shoulders or torso above the waterline, elevated to help adjust body temperature when entering and exiting. In practice, owners use it on warm summer nights, during longer evening sessions, and as a transition seat for kids who want to be in the spa but not fully submerged. It's a feature the Rhythm has and the Relay does not.

The Rhythm is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the salt system but ships without it pre-installed. Households add the salt system through Seven Seas (commonly bundled into the install) or later. If you want the most automated water care included standard need the Highlife® Series, where the FreshWater® IQ Salt System is installed at the factory.

The Rhythm carries a 5-year structure warranty and 2-year coverage on the shell surface, cabinet, plumbing, heater, components, and interior lighting. The Highlife® Series flagship, the 7-person Grandee®, carries a 7-year structure and shell warranty and 5-year coverage on the cabinet, plumbing, heater, and components, plus the patented Moto-Massage® DX and BellaFontana® water feature. The longer warranty and premium feature set is why most households comparing 7-person spas eventually weigh Rhythm against Grandee.

Hot Spring engineers the Hot Spot Series for low operating cost via FiberCor® high-density insulation, the Polymeric Substructure with Polyethylene Sealed Bottom, the patented Pump Shroud, and the SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump (less power than a 40-watt bulb). The Rhythm also meets CEC and APSP 14 standards and includes the Energy Smart® System. Actual monthly cost depends on local utility rates, ambient temperature, and use frequency, ask a Seven Seas advisor for an operating-cost estimate based on your climate and electricity rate.

Yes, with proper ventilation and drainage. Indoor installations require an electrician-approved 230 V / 50 amp feed, a moisture-resistant floor structure rated for 4,820 lbs filled, and active humidity ventilation. See the indoor installation guide for full requirements.

No. Within the Hot Spot Series, the single-jet Moto-Massage® (one sweeping stream) is offered on the SX and TX. The patented dual-stream Moto-Massage® DX is a Highlife® Series feature. The Rhythm's hydrotherapy centers on open seating, the 40-jet distribution across two Wavemaster® pumps, and Comfort Control® rather than a moving jet.
