TX Hot Tub

Hot Spot® Series by Hot Spring Spas

The TX is a two-person corner hot tub in the Hot Spot® Series, the value/entry tier manufactured by Hot Spring Spas, a Watkins Wellness brand, and the smallest spa in the series. The TX is designed to fit neatly into a corner, a smart, space-saving design perfectly sized for two, with lounge seating and a varied jet mix for dependable comfort and performance. Measuring 6' × 6' with a 190-gallon water capacity, the TX combines lounge seating for two with the signature Moto-Massage® jet, Hot Spring's exclusive moving jet, across 11 jets and four jet types. It ships configured for 115 V / 15 amp plug-and-play installation (with a 230 V / 50 amp convertible option), uses FiberCor® high-density insulation, and is FreshWater® Salt System Ready. The TX is sold and serviced through Seven Seas Pools & Spas.

Who the TX Is Built For

The TX fits if you want the smallest possible Hot Spring spa with the easiest possible install and a corner-friendly footprint. Two deeply contoured Bucket Seats, one with the signature Moto-Massage® jet, give a couple a true Hot Spring soak experience without committing to a 6- or 7-person spa or a 230 V hardwired install. The 6' × 6' corner-focused footprint slots into spaces that don't accommodate a square or rectangular tub: a corner of a small deck, a townhome backyard nook, the corner of a screened porch, an apartment patio. The 115 V / 15 amp plug-and-play electrical (the lowest amperage requirement in the Hot Spot Series) means the TX can plug into many existing 15-amp dedicated circuits without a 20-amp upgrade or a new subpanel. A representative owner review captures the use case: *"We love our TX spa. Even though it's a smaller tub, it has plenty of jets and comfort. Great tub and great value!"* That makes the TX a strong fit for couples, condo and townhome owners, retirees downsizing, first-time hot tub households on a budget, and anyone with a tight footprint.

It is not the right choice if you:
  • Need to seat three or more people regularly, see the Stride® (3 with lounger), SX (3 with Moto-Massage®), Pace™ (5 with Double Lounge), Relay® (6 with lounger), or Rhythm® (7 open seating)
  • Want the patented dual-stream Moto-Massage® DX (two streams sweeping simultaneously), that's a Highlife® Series feature. The TX includes the single-stream Moto-Massage®
  • Want a high jet count, 11 jets is the lowest in the series (the SX has 18; the Pace 24; the Relay and Rhythm 40)
  • Want exterior LED accent lighting or a waterfall, the TX includes only interior Multi-Color LED Points of Light. The Pace, Relay, Rhythm, and Stride include exterior LED lighting; the Pace, Relay, and Rhythm include a waterfall
  • Want multiple cover-lifter options, the TX supports only the Lift 'n Glide® cover lifter (other Hot Spot models also support CoverCradle®, CoverCradle II, and UpRite®)

The TX uses a single Wavemaster® 4200 two-speed jet pump rated 1.0 HP continuous duty / 1.7 HP breakdown torque, a smaller pump than the 6200 used on the rest of the series, sized for the TX's 11-jet count and 190-gallon volume. It's paired with a SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump that runs continuously for low-noise filtration. The 11 jets are arranged across four engineered jet types:

Jet TypeCountTargeted Area
Moto-Massage® Jet1Hot Spring's "legendary moving jet", sweeps a soothing stream of water up and down the back from the Moto-Massage® Bucket Seat
Directional Hydromassage1Adjustable directional pressure
Rotary Hydromassage1Rotating circular pressure for back muscles
Directional Precision®8Adjustable up, down, left, and right for pinpoint muscle treatment across the two Bucket Seats
  • Bucket Seat with Moto-Massage® Jet (signature), the hero seat on the TX. The Moto-Massage® is the legendary moving jet that sweeps water up and down the back from a stationary seat, the moving-jet pattern only Hot Spring offers.
  • Second deeply contoured Bucket Seat, shaped to cradle the body for a long, relaxing soak. The TX's seating is described by Hot Spring as "corner-focused open seating (includes lounge seating)", a lounge posture configured to fit the corner shell.
  • Comfort Control®, main intensity dial for the spa. Lets users move "from a soft touch to a powerful massage" without leaving the seat.

The TX is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the FreshWater® Salt System (sold separately or bundled by Seven Seas) rather than shipping with the salt system pre-installed. The salt system "automatically generates chlorine from salt for soft, natural-feeling water without harsh odors, itchy skin, or irritated eyes," with water balance holding for up to a full year between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

The 5-year structure warranty is the standard term across the Hot Spot® Series. If you want longer coverage step up to the Limelight® Series or the Highlife® Series (7-year structure and shell).

Hydrotherapy Experience, What a TX Soak Feels Like

The TX centers on the Moto-Massage® seat as its hero seat. From the Moto-Massage® Bucket Seat, a single jet stream sweeps continuously up and down the entire back from a stationary seated position, a moving-jet pattern only Hot Spring offers. (The dual-stream version, Moto-Massage® DX, lives on the Highlife® tier.) The second deeply contoured Bucket Seat features Directional Precision® jets adjustable up, down, left, and right plus a Directional Hydromassage and a Rotary Hydromassage jet for pressure variety. Comfort Control® dials overall intensity from a soft touch to a powerful working massage without changing seats. The seats and the purposefully arranged jet systems work together to target specific muscle groups from neck to feet. With only two seats, 190 gallons, and a 6' × 6' corner footprint, the TX is engineered as a couples spa, small enough to plug into a corner of a deck and run with a 15-amp circuit, but unmistakably a Hot Spring with the Moto-Massage® jet at its core.

How the TX Compares to Other Hot Spring Spas Series

The Hot Spot Series sits in the value tier of the Hot Spring lineup, above the entry-tier Freeflow Series. From most to least premium: Highlife → Limelight → Hot Spot → Freeflow.

Seven Seas also carries the Caldera Spas brand, Hot Spring's sister Watkins Wellness line. At this small-footprint value tier, cross-shopping comparisons typically include the TX against compact two- and three-person models in Caldera's Vacanza® Series and Fantasy® Series. The two brands take different approaches to hydrotherapy, Hot Spring builds the TX experience around the signature Moto-Massage® sweeping jet, the corner-focused lounge seating, and Comfort Control®; Caldera tunes its compact spas around its own seat ergonomics and jet patterns. Both deliver excellent therapeutic massage at the value tier, they simply feel quite different. Seven Seas carries both brands. Call or stop by your local Seven Seas Pools & Spas location to see which Caldera and Hot Spring models are currently on display and available for comparison. The full Caldera vs Hot Spring comparison covers the differences in detail.

Installation and Delivery

The TX ships convertible between two electrical configurations:

Installation and Delivery
  • 115 V / 15 amp plug-and-play, uses a Protected Power Cord (included) plugged into a dedicated 15-amp circuit. The TX is the only Hot Spot model that runs on a 15-amp circuit (the rest of the plug-and-play models require 20 amps), which makes installation easier in homes that don't have a dedicated 20-amp outdoor circuit. Heater output runs at 1,000 W on 115 V.

  • 230 V / 50 amp hardwired, converts to a 4,000 W heater and faster recovery times. Requires a GFCI-protected subpanel and a licensed electrician. Note: the hardwire conversion uses a 30-amp / 230 V configuration with subpanel rather than the 50-amp hardwire common on larger spas, confirm the specific panel requirement with Seven Seas at order.

  • Level reinforced concrete pad, deck capable of supporting 2,570 lbs filled (the lightest filled weight in the Hot Spot Series), or a prepared spa pad

  • Corner-friendly footprint, the TX is designed to fit neatly into a corner installation (deck corner, patio corner, screened-porch corner)

  • 24" minimum service clearance on at least one side for equipment access

  • Standard delivery to ground-level installations

Site requirements:

Seven Seas offers full delivery and installation service including site assessment, electrical coordination if you choose the 230 V conversion, and post-fill water balancing.

Water Care and Ongoing Maintenance

Because the TX is FreshWater® Salt System Ready rather than salt-installed-standard, owners can choose to run the spa on traditional chlorine or bromine water care, or upgrade to the FreshWater® Salt System (chlorine generated automatically from salt) at any point. The salt-water cycle can hold water balance for up to a full year between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

The 100% no-bypass filtration with Polyester Filters with Free-Flow Core means every drop of water passes through the filters during jet operation, unlike spas that bypass their filters when jets are running. With 30 sq. ft. of effective filtration area against just 190 gallons of water, the TX turns over its volume frequently. Filter cleaning runs on a monthly cadence, see the filter care guide in the owners area. For broader guidance, the salt-water hot tub care guide covers cartridge replacement, ozone interaction (an optional add-on on the TX), and seasonal draining intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TX is configured at the factory for 115 V / 15 amp plug-and-play installation, using a Protected Power Cord plugged into a dedicated 15-amp circuit, the lowest amperage requirement in the Hot Spot Series. That is meaningfully easier to find in existing homes than a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Confirm your circuit is dedicated (no other heavy loads like a refrigerator or freezer on the same circuit) before plugging in. Alternatively, the TX converts to 230 V hardwired (with subpanel) for a 4,000 W heater and faster recovery times.

The TX is the smallest spa in the series, 11 jets, 190 gallons, 6' × 6' footprint, and it uses a smaller Wavemaster® 4200 two-speed pump (1.0 HP continuous / 1.7 HP breakdown) sized to match. The rest of the Hot Spot Series uses the larger Wavemaster® 6200 pump. The smaller pump is what enables the 15-amp plug-and-play circuit, a 20-amp pump would push amperage past what a 15-amp circuit can deliver.

Both include the single-jet Moto-Massage® and ship 115 V plug-and-play. The differences:

  • TX: 2 seats in corner-focused lounge seating, 11 jets, 6' × 6' footprint, 190 gal, 15 amp plug-and-play
  • SX: 3 seats in open seating (3 deep Bucket Seats), 18 jets, 6' × 6'5" footprint, 230 gal, 20 amp plug-and-play

Pick the TX for the smallest possible footprint, the 15-amp circuit, and a corner installation; pick the SX for three seats and more jets.

The TX's Moto-Massage® is a single-jet moving system, one stream of water sweeps continuously up and down the back from a stationary seat. It's the Hot Spot tier's most affordable access to the patented sweeping pattern only Hot Spring offers. The Highlife flagship's Moto-Massage® DX is the dual-stream version, two streams sweep simultaneously up and down the back. Both deliver the patented sweeping pattern; the DX is more intense and is paired with broader seat ergonomics in the Highlife® line.

The TX is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the salt system but ships without it pre-installed. Households add the salt system through Seven Seas (commonly bundled into the install) or later. If you want the most automated water care included standard need the Highlife® Series, where the FreshWater® IQ Salt System is installed at the factory.

The TX's 6' × 6' corner-focused footprint and reduced cabinet height (29") narrow the lifter options that fit. Hot Spring lists only the Lift 'n Glide® lifter for the TX, which works with the corner-friendly geometry. Other Hot Spot models (Pace, Relay, Rhythm, Stride) support CoverCradle®, CoverCradle II, UpRite®, and Lift 'n Glide®.

The TX carries a 5-year structure warranty and 2-year coverage on the shell surface, cabinet, plumbing, heater, components, and interior lighting. The Highlife® Series flagship, the Grandee®, carries a 7-year structure and shell warranty and 5-year coverage on the cabinet, plumbing, heater, and components. The longer warranty is one of the main reasons households step from the Hot Spot tier to the Highlife tier.

Yes for both, and the TX is one of the easier Hot Spring spas to retrofit. The filled weight of 2,570 lbs is the lightest in the Hot Spot Series and lower than most full-size hot tubs, which makes deck installation more straightforward, but a structural review by a contractor is still recommended before installation. Indoor installations require moisture-resistant flooring rated for the filled weight, an electrician-approved 115 V or 230 V feed, and active humidity ventilation. See the indoor installation guide for full requirements. The corner-focused 6' × 6' footprint slots into spaces that can't accommodate a square or rectangular tub.

Hot Spring engineers the Hot Spot Series for low operating cost via FiberCor® high-density insulation, the Polymeric Substructure with Polyethylene Sealed Bottom, the patented Pump Shroud, and the SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump (less power than a 40-watt bulb). The TX also meets CEC and APSP 14 standards and includes the Energy Smart® System. With only 190 gallons to heat (the smallest water volume in the lineup), the TX is the most efficient hot tub in the Hot Spot Series. Actual monthly cost depends on local utility rates, ambient temperature, and use frequency, ask a Seven Seas advisor for an operating-cost estimate based on your climate and electricity rate.
