Who the Stride® Is Built For

The Stride fits households that want a true Hot Spring lounge experience in the smallest possible footprint with the easiest possible install. Three seats, one Lounge plus two deeply contoured Bucket Seats, suit couples and three-person households without the wasted seat-count of a six- or seven-person spa. The 115 V plug-and-play option removes the cost and scheduling friction of a 230 V hardwired install, and the 29" exterior height (vs. 33-36" on most Hot Spot models) is engineered for an easy step-in, useful for older adults, anyone with limited mobility, or simply anyone who doesn't want to climb. Owners commonly report the lounger comfortably fits a couple of average-to-tall adults. That makes the Stride a strong fit for couples, condo and townhome decks, smaller backyards, accessibility-conscious households, and first-time hot tub owners.

It is not the right choice if you:
  • Need to seat four or more people regularly, see the Pace™ (5 with Double Lounge), Relay® (6 with lounge), or Rhythm® (7 open seating)
  • Want two loungers, the Stride has one. The Pace™ is the only Hot Spot model with a Double Lounge layout
  • Want the patented Moto-Massage® DX dual-stream sweep or BellaFontana® water feature, those are Highlife-tier. For the single-jet Moto-Massage® in a 3-seat Hot Spot, see the SX
  • Want exterior LED accent lighting on a smaller spa, note the Stride includes interior Multi-Color LED Points of Light and Multi-Color LED exterior lighting with timer; the smaller SX and TX include only the interior LED

The Stride uses a single Wavemaster® 6200 two-speed jet pump rated 1.5 HP continuous duty / 3.2 HP breakdown torque, paired with a SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump that runs continuously for low-noise filtration. The 20 jets are arranged across five engineered jet types:

Jet TypeCountTargeted Area
XL Directional Hydromassage1Deep muscle relief with a powerful directional stream, typically targeted to the lounger
XL Rotary Hydromassage1Large rotating jet stream for deep muscle massage
Directional Hydromassage3Adjustable directional pressure across the seats
Rotary Hydromassage1Rotating circular pressure for back muscles
Directional Precision®14Adjustable up, down, left, and right for pinpoint muscle treatment across the lounger and Bucket Seats
  • Lounge Seat, reclined and contoured so soakers can lay back with legs extended. The defining seat on the Stride.
  • Bucket Seats (2), "deeply contoured" to cradle the body for a long, relaxing soak. The Stride's Bucket Seats are noted as more deeply shaped than the open-seating Bucket Seats on larger Hot Spot models.
  • Comfort Control®, main intensity dial for the spa. Lets users move "from a soft touch to a powerful massage" without leaving the seat.
  • Ergonomic Design, Hot Spring specifically calls out the Stride as "thoughtfully designed for accessibility with an easy step-in height." Step-in is 29", the lowest in the Hot Spot Series.

The Stride is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the FreshWater® Salt System (sold separately or bundled by Seven Seas) rather than shipping with the salt system pre-installed. The salt system "automatically generates chlorine from salt for soft, natural-feeling water without harsh odors, itchy skin, or irritated eyes," with water balance holding for up to a full year between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

Hot Spring publishes the Stride's warranty terms explicitly. Seven Seas honors and processes warranty claims for every Stride sold:

Warranty ComponentCoverage
Structure5 years
Shell surface2 years
Cabinet2 years
Plumbing2 years
No-Fault® heater2 years
Components2 years
Interior lighting2 years

The 5-year structure warranty is the standard term across the Hot Spot® Series. If you want longer coverage step up to the Limelight® Series or the Highlife® Series (7-year structure and shell).

Hydrotherapy Experience, What a Stride® Soak Feels Like

The Stride centers on the Lounge Seat as its hero seat. A reclined, contoured shell lets the soaker lay back with legs fully extended, a posture that's hard to find on a 7' × 5'5" footprint at this price tier. The lounger receives the XL Directional Hydromassage and XL Rotary Hydromassage jets (the highest-pressure jets on the Stride) plus a share of the 14 Directional Precision® jets, so a single user gets full-body coverage from feet through neck. The two deeply contoured Bucket Seats cradle a partner or guest for longer sits. Comfort Control® dials overall intensity from a soft touch to a powerful working massage without changing seats, so the same soak can run gentle for an evening unwind or aggressive for post-workout muscle relief. The 29" step-in height, the lowest in the series, is a quiet but meaningful detail: most owners find getting in and out easier on the Stride than on a taller spa.

How the Stride® Compares to Other Hot Spring Spas Series

The Hot Spot Series sits in the value tier of the Hot Spring lineup, above the entry-tier Freeflow Series. From most to least premium: Highlife → Limelight → Hot Spot → Freeflow.

Seven Seas also carries the Caldera Spas brand, Hot Spring's sister Watkins Wellness line. At this value tier, cross-shopping comparisons typically include the Stride against compact models in Caldera's Vacanza® Series and Fantasy® Series. The two brands take different approaches to hydrotherapy, Hot Spring builds the Hot Spot experience around Comfort Control®, the deeply contoured Bucket Seats, and Hot Spring's signature jet engineering; Caldera tunes its compact spas around its own seat ergonomics and jet patterns. Both deliver excellent therapeutic massage at the value tier, they simply feel quite different. Seven Seas carries both brands. Call or stop by your local Seven Seas Pools & Spas location to see which Caldera and Hot Spring models are currently on display and available for comparison. The full Caldera vs Hot Spring comparison covers the differences in detail.

Installation and Delivery

The Stride ships convertible between two electrical configurations:

Installation and Delivery
  • 115 V / 20 amp plug-and-play, uses a Protected Power Cord (included) plugged into a dedicated 20-amp circuit. No subpanel or licensed-electrician hardwire required for many installations. Heater output runs at 1,000 W on 115 V.

  • 230 V / 50 amp hardwired, converts to a 4,000 W heater and faster recovery times. Requires a GFCI-protected subpanel and a licensed electrician.

  • Level reinforced concrete pad, deck capable of supporting 2,975 lbs filled (the Stride is the lightest filled weight in the Hot Spot Series), or a prepared spa pad

  • 24" minimum service clearance on at least one side for equipment access

  • Standard delivery to ground-level installations

Site requirements:

Seven Seas offers full delivery and installation service including site assessment, electrical coordination if you choose the 230 V conversion, and post-fill water balancing.

Water Care and Ongoing Maintenance

Because the Stride is FreshWater® Salt System Ready rather than salt-installed-standard, owners can choose to run the spa on traditional chlorine or bromine water care, or upgrade to the FreshWater® Salt System (chlorine generated automatically from salt) at any point. The salt-water cycle can hold water balance for up to a full year between drain-and-refill cycles when properly maintained.

The 100% no-bypass filtration with Polyester Filters with Free-Flow Core means every drop of water passes through the filters during jet operation, unlike spas that bypass their filters when jets are running. Filter cleaning runs on a monthly cadence, see the filter care guide in the owners area. For broader guidance, the salt-water hot tub care guide covers cartridge replacement, ozone interaction (an optional add-on on the Stride), and seasonal draining intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Stride is configured at the factory for 115 V / 20 amp plug-and-play installation, using a Protected Power Cord plugged into a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Most U.S. homes use 15-amp outlets in living spaces, confirm your circuit rating before ordering, and budget for an electrician to install a dedicated 20-amp circuit if you don't already have one. Alternatively, the Stride converts to 230 V / 50 amp for faster heating and more simultaneous jet/heat performance, which requires a GFCI subpanel and licensed-electrician hardwire.

Both are 115 V plug-and-play capable Hot Spot models with a lounger. The differences:

  • Stride®: 3 seats, one lounger plus two deeply contoured Bucket Seats, 20 jets, 225 gal, 7' × 5'5", 29" tall (easy step-in height)
  • Pace™: 5 seats, two loungers (Double Lounge), 24 jets, 300 gal, 6'10" × 6'10", 33" tall, includes the SmartJet® System

The Stride is the right pick for couples and 3-person households who want the smallest footprint and the easiest step-in height; the Pace is the right pick when two people want to lounge simultaneously plus three Bench Seats for guests.

Both are 3-seat 115 V plug-and-play Hot Spot models with similar pricing positioning. The differences:

  • Stride®: Lounge Included (1 lounger + 2 Bucket Seats), 20 jets, 7' × 5'5" footprint, 29" tall
  • SX: Open seating (3 deep Bucket Seats including the Moto-Massage® seat), 18 jets, 6' × 6'5" footprint, 33" tall

Pick the Stride for the lounger and easier step-in; pick the SX for open seating and the signature Moto-Massage® jet that sweeps water up and down the back.

The Stride is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the salt system but ships without it pre-installed. Households add the salt system through Seven Seas (commonly bundled into the install) or later. If you want the most automated water care included standard need the Highlife® Series, where the FreshWater® IQ Salt System is installed at the factory.

At 29" exterior height, the Stride has the lowest step-in of any Hot Spot model (the Pace, Relay, and Rhythm are 33-36" tall). Hot Spring specifically markets the Stride as "thoughtfully designed for accessibility with an easy step-in height." In practice, that's a meaningful detail for older adults, anyone with limited mobility, parents lifting young children in and out, and anyone who simply doesn't want to climb. The lower height is part of what makes the Stride a strong choice for first-time buyer and accessibility-minded households.

The Stride carries a 5-year structure warranty and 2-year coverage on the shell surface, cabinet, plumbing, heater, components, and interior lighting. The Highlife® Series flagship, the Grandee®, carries a 7-year structure and shell warranty and 5-year coverage on the cabinet, plumbing, heater, and components. The longer warranty is one of the main reasons households step from the Hot Spot tier to the Highlife tier.

Yes for both, with planning. The Stride's filled weight of 2,975 lbs is the lightest in the Hot Spot Series, which makes deck installation more straightforward than larger Hot Spot models, but a structural review by a contractor is still recommended before installation. Indoor installations require moisture-resistant flooring rated for the filled weight, an electrician-approved 115 V or 230 V feed, and active humidity ventilation. See the indoor installation guide for full requirements.

Hot Spring engineers the Hot Spot Series for low operating cost via FiberCor® high-density insulation, the Polymeric Substructure with Polyethylene Sealed Bottom, the patented Pump Shroud, and the SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump (less power than a 40-watt bulb). The Stride also meets CEC and APSP 14 standards and includes the Energy Smart® System. With only 225 gallons to heat, the smallest water capacity among Hot Spot loungers, the Stride is among the most efficient hot tubs in the lineup. Actual monthly cost depends on local utility rates, ambient temperature, and use frequency, ask a Seven Seas advisor for an operating-cost estimate based on your climate and electricity rate.
