SX Hot Tub

The SX is configured at the factory for 115 V / 20 amp plug-and-play installation, using a Protected Power Cord plugged into a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Most U.S. homes use 15-amp outlets in living spaces, confirm your circuit rating before ordering, and budget for an electrician to install a dedicated 20-amp circuit if you don't already have one. Alternatively, the SX converts to 230 V / 50 amp for faster heating and more simultaneous jet/heat performance, which requires a GFCI subpanel and licensed-electrician hardwire.

The SX's Moto-Massage® is a single-jet moving system, one stream of water sweeps continuously up and down the back from a stationary seat. It's the legendary moving jet, and it's what makes a Hot Spring a Hot Spring at the value tier. The Highlife flagship's Moto-Massage® DX is the dual-stream version, two streams sweep simultaneously up and down the back. Both deliver the patented sweeping pattern only Hot Spring offers; the DX is more intense and is paired with broader seat ergonomics in the Highlife® line.

Both are 3-seat 115 V plug-and-play Hot Spot models with similar pricing positioning. The differences:

• SX: Open seating (3 deep Bucket Seats including the Moto-Massage® seat), 18 jets, 6' × 6'5" footprint, 33" tall
• Stride®: Lounge Included (1 lounger + 2 Bucket Seats), 20 jets, 7' × 5'5" footprint, 29" tall (easy step-in)

Pick the SX for the Moto-Massage® jet and face-to-face open seating; pick the Stride for the lounger and easier step-in.

Both include the single-jet Moto-Massage® and ship 115 V plug-and-play. The differences:

• SX: 3 seats in open seating (3 deep Bucket Seats), 18 jets, 6' × 6'5" footprint, 230 gal
• TX: 2 seats in corner-focused lounge seating, 11 jets, 6' × 6' footprint, 190 gal, the smallest spa in the series

Pick the SX for three seats and more jets; pick the TX for the smallest possible footprint and a corner installation.

The SX is FreshWater® Salt System Ready, meaning the spa is engineered for the salt system but ships without it pre-installed. Households add the salt system through Seven Seas (commonly bundled into the install) or later. If you want the most automated water care included standard need the Highlife® Series, where the FreshWater® IQ Salt System is installed at the factory.

The SX carries a 5-year structure warranty and 2-year coverage on the shell surface, cabinet, plumbing, heater, components, and interior lighting. The Highlife® Series flagship, the Grandee®, carries a 7-year structure and shell warranty and 5-year coverage on the cabinet, plumbing, heater, and components. The longer warranty is one of the main reasons households step from the Hot Spot tier to the Highlife tier, especially if you specifically want the dual-stream Moto-Massage® DX.

Yes for both, with planning. The SX's filled weight of 3,090 lbs is among the lightest in the Hot Spot Series, which makes deck installation more straightforward than larger Hot Spot models, but a structural review by a contractor is still recommended before installation. Indoor installations require moisture-resistant flooring rated for the filled weight, an electrician-approved 115 V or 230 V feed, and active humidity ventilation. Hot Spring engineers the Hot Spot Series for low operating cost via FiberCor® high-density insulation, the Polymeric Substructure with Polyethylene Sealed Bottom, the patented Pump Shroud, and the SilentFlo 5000® circulation pump (less power than a 40-watt bulb). The SX also meets CEC and APSP 14 standards and includes the Energy Smart® System. With only 230 gallons to heat, the SX is among the most efficient hot tubs in the lineup. The SX is positioned at the entry end of the Hot Spot Series, and the SX includes only Multi-Color LED Points of Light (interior) and no waterfall, a deliberate trim of the feature set that helps keep the SX at its accessible price point while preserving the signature Moto-Massage® jet.
