What makes the T Series distinct in the River Pools lineup: it is the only shell engineered for a real deep end. Every other River Pools series has a conventional deep end designed for swimming, not for diving or vertical immersion. The T40's 8'6" deep end is the deepest one-piece fiberglass shell in the lineup.

Who the T Series Is Built For

The T Series fits you if you want:
  • A real deep end you can dive into or play underwater games in.
  • An oversized shallow end that holds a crowd in standing-depth water.
  • A rectangular shape with an auto-cover-ready coping line.
  • One pool that handles both the cannonball-and-dive use case and the standing-depth gathering use case.
It's a less efficient match if you want:
  • More standing-play space across the whole pool. The A Series is flat-bottom and consistent depth.
  • A tanning ledge for chair-on-the-shallow lounging. Pick D Series or X Series.
  • A freeform shape. Pick I Series or C Series.
  • A smaller yard footprint. The T40 is one size only at 16' × 40'.

The T40

Spec T40
Width × Length 16' × 40'
Deep end depth 8'6"
Shallow end Oversized relative to a standard rectangular pool
Tanning ledge No
Integrated spa No
Auto-cover ready Yes

The T40 is the only model in the T Series. Dimensions are fixed at 16' × 40' to deliver the deep end and the oversized shallow end inside a single one-piece shell.

Why a Real Deep End

Most fiberglass pools top out around 5'6" to 6' in the deep end. That is enough for swimming, but not enough for diving in any safe way and not enough for vertical play (handstands, deep cannonballs, underwater swim drills). The T40's 8'6" deep end is the only River Pools shell with a depth that supports those uses. A standard diving board still requires more depth than the T40 provides under most codes, but the deep end is enough for casual jumps, dive-toy retrieval, deep-water training, and snorkel practice.

If diving from a residential board is non-negotiable, fiberglass is generally not the right construction method; a custom concrete pool is. The T40 is the deepest fiberglass option, not a substitute for a competition diving installation.

The Oversized Shallow End

The shallow end on the T40 is approximately 30% larger than the shallow on a comparable rectangular fiberglass pool. That extra shallow footprint gives you:

  • Standing-depth gathering space for groups
  • Room for kids to play in supervised shallow water while adults swim or lounge in the deep end
  • A larger zone for in-water games that don't need full depth

The two-zone logic, deep end for diving and active swim, large shallow for hanging out, is what makes the T40 work as a single shell for households that want both uses without compromise.

Auto-Cover Integration

The T40 coping is built with hidden tracks for an automatic safety cover. The deep end of the pool is the natural location for the cover sleeve, hidden under a low-profile housing. A safety cover over a deep-end pool is also a meaningful child-safety consideration, since the 8'6" depth is exactly where unsupervised access becomes most dangerous.

T Series vs. Other River Pools Series

T Series vs. R Series

T Series vs. R Series fiberglass pool comparison

Both rectangular and auto-cover-ready. R has a conventional deep end (around 5'6" to 6'); T40 has a real 8'6" deep end and a larger shallow. Pick R for casual swim; pick T40 for diving and deep-water use.

T Series vs. A Series

T Series vs. A Series fiberglass pool comparison

Both rectangular and auto-cover-ready. A is flat-bottom and shallow throughout; T40 has a true deep end and a deep-shallow split. Pick A for play and games; pick T40 if any user wants a real deep end.

T Series vs. D Series

T Series vs. D Series fiberglass pool comparison

Both rectangular and auto-cover-ready. D ships with a tanning ledge; T40 does not. Pick D if you want a shallow lounge zone; pick T40 if you want a deep end.

Common Questions

Residential diving-board safety codes typically require more depth and a specific deep-end profile than the T40 provides. Casual diving from the edge is what the deep end is engineered for. If competition diving is the use case, fiberglass is generally not the construction method; ask your Seven Seas installer about a concrete custom pool instead.

Yes. The shallow end is at swim-depth, not wading-depth. The "oversized" descriptor refers to its footprint area, not to it being unusually shallow.

The 16' × 40' footprint plus required surround decking pushes the T40 toward mid-to-large yards. Seven Seas confirms fit during the site visit.

No. The T40 shell is molded without a ledge. The R Series and D Series are the alternatives if a ledge is part of the requirement, but they don't carry the 8'6" deep end.
